Breaking Down Barriers x NBA

The Converse Breaking Down Barriers collection told the story of the first three African American basketball players to break the color barrier in the NBA in 1950. The collection tells the story of Chuck Cooper who was the first African-American to be drafted; Earl Lloyd who was the first African-American to play in an NBA game and Nat “Sweetwater” Clifton who was the first African-American to sign an NBA contract. The six sneaker Chuck 70 Hi & Pro Leather Hi collection was created in collaboration with the NBA and features graphics and team logos that pay homage to each athlete.
